Imagine this nightmare scenario: your production plant has a problem. A serious one. Smoke begins to fill the interior of the building, with no way to escape, endangering everyone inside. No one wants to envision this situation, but unfortunately, without a proper smoke ventilation system, a grim story could become an even more grim reality. If your smoke vents are old, or even non-existent, at your facility, Design Components Inc. should be the first company on your list of calls to make.
Two types of smoke vents to choose from
At Design Components Inc., we are proud to offer two different types of smoke vents for your facility, or any kind of steel or metal structure. Our mechanical smoke vents, available in aluminum and steel, open and close to release smoke as needed. Our drop out smoke vents do the same thing, but literally “drop out” when smoke or fire is detected through fusible link temperature sensors and also act as natural light skylights. These, of course, come with standard fall protection. Both types of smoke vents can be installed on any type of roof curb, and come with all the hardware needed for you or your company to install them in your structure on your own. They can even be painted to match the inside or outside color of your existing building. Our skylights, though not effective in any kind of fire or smoke contingency plan, have proven to be attractive, cost-saving compliments to our smoke vents, with many of our customers ordering a combination of both for their metal or steel buildings.
With recent world events, we have all seen how damaging and destructive smoke and fire can be to structures, so isn’t it time to consider smoke vents or a smoke ventilation system as part of your facility’s safeguards against the very real threat of smoke or fire damage?
