These canopies can be installed over standard doors to over-sized bay doors, and can extend up to five feet from a wall. To assure they meet your entry’s unique needs they are fitted to any length required. In order to save time and cut down on labor costs, these canopies are rod hung and come pre-assembled. This allows for efficient installation with very little downtime. Another helpful benefit of these metal building canopies is that they are wind rated up to 180mph and can sustain 26psf to 100sf of snow. Metal Building Canopies Construction

• Design – These canopies incorporate flat soffit and integral gutter drain. The canopy drains are up against the building to the outside of door jams. No matter the type of wall panel or masonry construction, these metal building canopies can be installed in conjunction with those features.
• Finishes – Design Components offers three different finishes for your metal building canopies. We offer mill finish pre-coated or baked enamel finish that can be applied to match your building colors.
• Sizes – Though we offer special sizes upon request, we do have preset sizes. There are 4’-0” or 5’-0” projections from face of wall. The width options can be 4’-6” for single doors or 7’-6” for double doors.
• Loading – Our 4’-0” projection canopy is rated for 34#PSF gravity loading and 180 mph wind uplift rated. The 5’-0” projection canopy is rated for 26#PSF gravity loading and 180 mph wind uplift. These measurements are based on the canopy being mounted less than 30’ from the ground.

When it comes to the safety of loading docks and and back door entrances, there are special considerations. These areas are frequently subject to exposure from axle grease, floating debris (shrink wrap, packing peanuts, wood pallet fragments, etc.) and diesel oil spillage that can accumulate in palletized delivery locations. This can hinder safe loading and unloading of trucks especially if exposed to weather elements of rain, snow and ice; even direct sunlight can hinder loading/unloading and damage products.
