If you run a metal fabrication shop, you already know that having a good ventilation system is close to the top of the list of priorities. Welding, soldering and metal fabrication give off an amazing amount of heat, and if your shop is in a metal or steel building, what you have is tantamount to a giant oven. Without a decent ventilation system, your shop could easily cook your employees to a golden brown. So who should you turn to if you need to keep the air moving with a ventilation system? Design Components Inc., of course!
A Two-Fold Approach
If you are thinking about what a ventilation system entails, chances are your first thought was of a fan. You’d be right; a fan or series of fans are a cornerstone of any good ventilation system. But with fans blowing non-stop in your metal fabrication shop, there needs to be place for that air to go. That’s where our louvers come in. These units, paired with our fans, provide a clear pathway for air to enter and exit your metal fabrication shop. With a set of louvers and fans in place, you can be sure your building will stay cool and the air will circulate as it needs to.
With our fans, you can choose from one of two types; a roof fan or a wall fan. Our wall fans arrive in a pre-assembled metal building kit that includes everything you’ll need to get it installed and running. Our roof fans, when paired with a roof curb unit, can also be easily installed in your building. Depending on the air flow patterns your building needs, both a wall fan or roof fan can be a great choice.
The unsung hero of the ventilation system is the louver. These vents are part two of the ventilation system equation, and come in both fixed and adjustable styles. The difference between the two is exactly when it sounds like; adjustable louvers can be opened and closed manually while fixed models stay in the same 45-degree angle position at all times. Both models are designed to work with any fan you may install, and can even be painted to match the exterior of your existing building.
An alternative to the louvers/fan combo is one of our gravity vents. These roof-mounted accessories work based on the principle that heat rises. As the hot air in your structure rises, it is allowed to escape naturally through a gravity vent. These come in both ridge and round models, and provide a nice alternative or even addition to your fan/louver setup.
